Pleasanton is going to be the place to be on Saturday, Dec. 3. That’s when the city kicks off the Christmas Season with its Annual Hometown Holiday Celebration. This is an old-fashioned small town Christmastime celebration that the whole family will enjoy.
The fun begins at 5:00 p.m. with a Christmas Parade down Main Street. The parade gives community groups, including the award winning marching bands from Pleasanton’s Amador Valley High School and Foothill High School and Pleasanton’s Balloon Platoon to strut their stuff. Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Brownies, car clubs, dog clubs and many others will be on parade.
When the parade wraps up Pleasanton Mayor Jennifer Hosterman will light the town Christmas tree at the Museum on Main to officially start the Holiday Season. Her Honor will not be the only special guest present, Santa Claus will come down from the North Pole to see the kids.
The tree lighting ceremony will be followed by an old fashioned community sing a long. We encourage everybody in the Tri-Valley to come out for this great event it’s a great way to see your community at its’ best. It’s also a great way to meet your friends and neighbors.
