The City of Pleasanton is in the process of determining which sites around Pleasanton will in fact be rezoned to meet a further 2,300 affordable housing units as required by the State of California. These high density housing units are in addition to the 800 affordable housing units that were recently approved for development in the Hacienda Business Park.
Last week, the Pleasanton City Council was able to narrow down the number of properties under consideration for rezoning to just a little over 70 acres.
It is envisaged that most sites will accommodate 30 units per acre with one property potentially having up to 40 units per acre.
