Measure E Parcel Tax

On May 3rd, voting for the Pleasanton Unified School District’s Measure E Parcel Tax will be due.  All property owners in Pleasanton who are 65 years of age and older are eligible for an exemption from this tax.

If you meet this criteria, be sure to pick up an exemption form at the Pleasanton Unified School District Business Office or you may call 426-4307 and an exemption form will be mailed to you.  You can also pick up forms at the Pleasanton Senior Center or you may download a form at www.pleasanton.k12.ca.us.  Exemption forms must be filed by June 30, 2011.

What is Measure E?

Measure E places a $98 per parcel tax on Pleasanton properties to do the following:

  • Emphasize core academic instruction that improves math, science and reading skills;
  • Attract and retain highly-qualified teachers;
  • Support specialized science and reading instruction;
  • Keep school libraries open and maintain library services and materials; and
  • Minimize class size increases.

It must be voter approved by 2/3 of the voters to pass.
