With the Pleasanton City council recently approving the go ahead for the development of the Stoneridge Creek continuing-life retirement community, construction should now finally get underway in first quarter 2011.
This fabulous state of the art retirement community will be developed on 46 acres of the former Staples Ranch property in Pleasanton. First occupancy is anticipated for sometime in 2013.
We visited the sales office and learned Stoneridge Creek has already received deposits from over 1000 Seniors who wish to make sure they have an opportunity to move in to the community when it does open.
From what we understand, there will be approximately 630 plus single story senior independent living units, a health center that will have 114 assisted living/Alzheimer units as well as a skilled nursing facility with 38 beds. The independent living units will vary in size, with the largest units being approximately 2,500 square feet.
There is an abundance of amenities planned for the community based on what we have read and been told. Plans include a club house with multiple dining areas, an auditorium, movie theater, wood shop, computer room, billiards room, card room, library, medical exam rooms and a beauty salon.
Some of the other outdoor planned amenities include a tennis court, short game golf course, man made lake, picnic area, bocce ball courts and an outdoor pool (as well as there being an indoor pool).
The appeal for many of the future residents of Stoneridge Creek is making just one move to a new home. From resort-like environment and activities combined with associated healthcare facilities to an adjacent health center that will offer residents with unlimited access to assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory support accommodations for as long as needed, thus greatly removing the stress of becoming a burden to their spouse or families in the future.
