G’Day! Today in the land down under, it’s Australia day. A day commemorating the landing of the First Fleet at Sydney Cove on January 26th in 1788. Actually, it was really yesterday, as Australia is a day ahead of us here.
So why do I mention Australia day?
While the USA is my home today and I’m an American citizen, I was born and grew up in Australia and will always be an Aussie. One more reason is our 3 year old son Bryce who also happens to be an Australian citizen (as well as an American citizen).
To celebrate Australia Day I’m flying our Australian Flag for the day and having some friends over tonight for dinner – for a good old Aussie meat pie with tomato sauce (aka ketchup).
Happy Australia Day!
