Tri-Valley home sales, median home prices increase in May

A weak economy and stringent financing conditions hasn’t caused any significant slowdown in Tri-Valley (Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton & San Ramon) home sales.  Our median sales price is up for May.

Home sales in May remained steady, less than a 1 difference from April. Compared to a year ago, the number of sales are down 23 percent.

Closed escrow sales of existing, single-family detached homes in the Tri-Valley totaled 222 units in May, of these 37% were bank owned (Foreclosure, REO) homes.

The median price of an existing, single-family detached home sold in Tri -Valley also edged up in May to $620,000 from a $600,000 in April.  May’s median price was equal to the $600,000 recorded in May 2010, continuing to keep the median price close to 2002 levels.
